The essay concerns the role of authority in the modern school and family. The authors try to answer the following questions: What is the position and reputation of school in the society? Does it reflect the crisis of culture, society and democracy? And,on the contrary, what does the society offer to the teacher in order to strengthen his/her respect in the public eyes?, and so on. The text is to stimulate reflection on the future of the authority of the (post) modern societies.
