The eighth International Seminar on new trends in research of energetic materials (EMs) was an international meeting of young people and university teachers working in the field of teaching, research, development, processing, analysing and application ofall kinds of energetic materials. This meeting was systematically focused on the topics of Initiation and Ignition but an attention was devoted also to other problems of the energetic materials (stability, thermal reactivity, physics of explosion, syntheses of some EMs, etc.). It was not aimed only at the exchange of professional information but also to create pleasant meeting where young specialists from 22 countries had the opportunity to meet and gain personal contacts.

Osmý mezinárodní seminář o nových trendech výzkumu energetických materiálů byl mezinárodním setkáním mladých lidí a univerzitních učitelů pracujících v oblasti výuky, výzkumu, vývoje, zpracování, analýzy a aplikace všech druhů energetických materiálů. Hlavní tématické zaměření tohoto setkání byla iniciace a zážeh, ale pozornost byla věnována i dalším problémům energetických materiálů (stabilita, tepelná reaktivita, fyzika výbuchu, syntézy některých EMs, atd.). Byla to nejen výměna odborných informací, ale příjemné setkání mladých specialistů z 22 zemí, kteří zde měli možnost navázat osobní kontakty.
