Synthesis and Structure of NCN-Chelated Organobismuth(III) Bis-Pentasulfide
Original language description
Organobismuth(III) sulfide (1) containing the NCN pincer type chelating ligand L {L = [2, 6-(CH2NMe2)2C6H3]} reacts with one molar equivalent of elemental sulfur to give the unprecedented cyclic bis-pentasulfide LBi(mu-S5)2BiL (2) with the central twelve-membered ring Bi2S10. Compound 2 was obtained as stable orange crystals and was characterized by the help of elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction technique, IR, and Raman spectroscopy.
