Synthesis, crystal structure, spectra and magnetic properties of new manganese(III) and iron(III) dipicolinate complexes
Original language description
The four ionic manganese(III) and iron(III) dipicolinate complexes of formula (Hpia)[Fe-III(dipic)(2)]center dot 3H(2)O, (Hpia)[Mn-III(dipic)(2)]center dot(H(2)dipic)center dot 6H(2)O, (Hinia)]Fe-III(dipic)(2)]center dot 3H(2)O and (Hinia)[Mn-III(dipic)(2)]center dot 3H(2)O, where dipic(2-) = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylate anion (dipicolinate anion), H(2)dipic = pyridine-2,6-dicarboxylic acid, Hpia(+) = 2-carboxamidepyridinium (picolinamidium) cation and Hinia(+) = 4-carboxamidepyridinium (isonicotinamidium) cation have been prepared and characterized by the single-crystal X-ray structure analysis. The SQUID-magnetic data were fitted to a zero-field splitting model revealing a slight magnetic anisotropy: vertical bar D vertical bar/hc similar to 3 cm(-1) for Mn(III).
