    The presented paper deals with the numerical analysis of wind induced vibrations of circular cylinder. A common method of alleviating vortex-induced oscillations is to put on devices that destroy or reduce the coherence of the shed vortices. Of the various types of such devices, one of the most effective is the helical strake system. In the article the modern trend of complex multiphysical computing has been observed. Based on CFD, a special computation of the velocity field surrounding the structure has been carried out. The reduction of harmonic forces using various strake systems on circular thin-walled steel cylinder is shown on performed CFD calculation.
