Non-Invasive Blood Pressure Measurement Using Multiholter Device
Original language description
This article discusses a prototype device for collecting signals related to the throb during shock waves in the bloodstream. These signals can be recorded using non-invasive sensors mounted on the patient's skin. In principle, there are the two basic electrical signals: electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmograph (PPG). The aim of the device being described is to sample and record the PPG curve in several places (at different distances from each other) of arterial blood in order to assess the connection between them or between the PPG and the ECG curve. This assessment has a long-term objective consisting in a new non-invasive method for long-term blood pressure measurement based on the calibration of values according to values obtained using inflatable cuffs. The motivation is to eliminate patient's stress arising from the regular clutching of arms in long inflatable-cuff monitoring.
