Stabilization of blast furnace slag and fly ash by alkali activation
Original language description
Fly ash and granulated blast furnace slag are waste products, that usually contain small amount of heavy metals and other toxic elements. New alumino-silicate matrix (geopolymer) is formed by alkali activation of these products. Nowadays many researchesdeal with the ability of these matrixes to fix and immobilize toxic materials. Six types of matrixes were prepared from suitable base materials. The composition of the matrixes was analysed by XRF and other analyses
