Using Candida glabrata for screening antifungal activity of plant extracts
Original language description
This work aims at preservation of chosen plant extract from clove, garlic, ginger and turmeric into phospholipid nanoparticles in order to prolong their activity and stability to get better antifungal effect. Extracted antimicrobial compounds were characterized and packed into liposomes. These particles were characterized base on their encapsulation efficiency by spectrophotometry. Particle size and size distribution were observed by dynamic light scattering and stability in solution by determining zeta-potential. All of the prepared samples showed high activity against Candida glabrata in comparison with control. Encapsulation of active compounds from plants into liposomes can be an interesting way how to cure mycotic infections and can be potentially used as medical components or as preservants in cosmetics and food industry.
