Novel Materials for Bioelectronic Devices and Sensors

  • Original language description

One of the most promising materials in the field of bioelectronics is PEDOT:PSS. This material posseses unique properties, but biocompatibility presents its main limitation. Therefore, there is an effort to provide material with improved biocompatibility that would pose a perfect interface for a biological system, while meeting all other requirements imposed on the materials for bioelectronics, especially suitable electrical properties. There are several approaches how to reach this aim, surface modification, preparation of polymer composites and formation of structures with more tissue-like properties between them.
