    Women in the Leadership Position and Their Relevant Competencies: Results of Exploratory Quantitaive Research Study

    The aim of the presented study is to explore the relevant leadership competencies of women in a managerial position in the Czech companies etabled in South Moravian region. The purpose of this paper is to identify personal features, that are more important for those female executives who have reached a leadership positions. There had been conducted quantitative exploratory research among 28 women in the leading position. The respondents were evaluated the im-portance and frequency of use of the leadership competencies in their position. This led us to calculation of the overall significance index for each competency. The most relevant competen-cies of the women in leading position in the South Moravian region were (in order) ability to ne-gotiate and communication skills (s=20,86), ability to make decision (s=19,39), ethical behaviour (s=19,37), ability to organize work of subordinates (s=18,93) and professional knowledge of the field (s=18,32). In respect to findings the most important competencies for women in the leading position were identified and could be used as a background for the creation and development of competency model. The paper is based on the research of managerial competencies. Concretely on the specifics of the women in the leading positions
