Original language description
The development of new analytical methods and new approaches to sample characterization is focused on increasing sensitivity and lowering detection limits. It is also an advantage to determine multiple analytes in one sample within one measurement (i.e. multiplexing). A method meeting all these requirements is laser ablation followed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS).
