    Gender Analysis of Math Exam Results at University of Finance and Administration

    A student's success in an examination at a university may depend on various factors. It is debatable whether student's gender may be one of them. As far as mathematics is concerned, the tendency to accept gender stereotypes in favor of males may appear. The aim of this paper is to analyze the results of the mathematics exam at the University of Finance and Administration in Prague, especially from the students' gender point of view. Two groups of students are included in the research – students who passed the mathematics exam in the academic year 2015/2016 and students who passed the exam in the academic year 2016/2017. For each of these years,the ratios of individual marks obtained by males and by females are compared and the conclusion is made: there are no substantial differences between the results of males and females in the tested groups.
