Since 1988 the spread of plum pox virus (PPV) was monitored in five orchards and one experimental nursery established in the Czech Republic. This study was focussed on differences in this spread between cultivars and also between different clones within´Domestic Prune´. A majority of cultivars were evaluated in an experimental orchard established in 1993. Nearly one thousand of the trees were grown in plots located closely to germplasm plum orchard where about 80 % of trees were infected by plum pox virus. The highest shares of infected trees were noted with Empress cv, followed by President, Early Blue, Valor and Wegierka Dabrowicka. On the other hand no infected tree was found with Nancy Mirabelle. Low shares of infected trees were observed with Valjevka, Čačanska rana, Reine Claude, Hamanova and Bluefre.

Od r. 1988 bylo monitorováno šíření virové šarky (PPV) v pěti výsadbách a v jedné pokusné školce založených v České republice. Studium šíření šarky bylo zaměřeno na odrůdy a na klony v rámci ´Domácí švestky´. Většina odrůd byla hodnocena v pokusné výsadbě založené v r. 1993. Zde přibližně tisíc stromů rostlo na parcelkách těsně sousedících s výsadbou genofondu slivoní kde 80% stromů bylo infikováno virem šarky. Nejvyšší podíl infikovaných stromů byl zaznamenán u odrůdy ´Empress´, za nímž následovaly ´President´, ´Early Blue´, ´Valor´ a ´ Wegierka Dabrowicka´. Naproti tomu žádný infikovaný strom nebyl nalezen u ´Mirabelky nancyské´. Nízký podíl infikovaných stromů byl zjištěn u odrůd ´Valjevka´, ´Čačanska rana´, ´Zelená renklóda´, ´ Hamanova´ a ´Bluefre´.
