Relationship between Fusarium head blight and pigments in wheat grain
Original language description
Abstract published in: Book of Abstracts of 4th Conference of Cereral Biotechnology and Breeding (CBB) organized in Budapest, Hungary, November 6-9, 2017, The resistance to the Fusarium head blight were evaluated in the gene sources of spring wheat with purple pericarp, blue aleurone and yellow endosperm. The gene resources were tested in the field experiments with artificial infection of mixture of the pathogen in the inoculum. The content of deoxynivalenol (DON) was analyzed. The genotype “Tschermak blaukörniger Sommerweizen” with blue aleurone was the most resistant (DON 8.4 mg/kg), the most durable was “ANK-28A” (5.5 mg / kg).with purple pericarp. Higher resistance had genotypes with yellow endosperm and purple pericarp, and lower with blue aleurone.
