The paper is devoted an example of project Partnership for local development in the Czech Republic. Second largest city Brno uses very successful marketing activities. Very important role plays there Masaryk University. The idea of local development issues from experiences and results obtained in previous international project Communicating Town in the second half of the 90’s. Some practical results and marketing methodology recommendations from the marketing research conducted in Brno are mentioned in the second part.
