Original language description
The aim of this paper is to specify the reading comprehension descriptors of language for specific purposes at CEFR levels B1 and B2 within an academic context.To achieve this goal, reading comprehension will be analysed by comparing general texts with texts for more specific purposes. Grammatical and textual features and corresponding reading strategies will be dealt with, focusing on particular texts. The results were assessed via an online questionnaire, and tests were carried out at both the Metropolitan University of Prague and the Technical University of Košice. Based on the results of this project, an amendment of the descriptors for language use within an academic context is proposed.
