Investigation of Materials Interaction with Molten Corium
Original language description
Severe nuclear accidents led to significant economic, social damage, and negative public opinion regarding the appropriateness of using the nuclear power plant. The reactor core could melt and form a complex mixture called corium. The knowledge of corium behaviour, one of the keys to increasing the safety of nuclear reactors, is carried out using by integral calculation codes, which based on limited data. This work, carried out in the Cold Crucible Laboratory in the Research Centre Řež, provides experimental data on the interaction of corium with stainless steel rods and the interaction of a jet of molten corium with concrete.
