The efficiency of the public sector represents an important factor in terms of achieving stability and sustainability of public finance. The public sector efficiency and its theoretical reflection constitute a relatively large area of economics researchand are subject to a long-term discussion. The public sector efficiency is topical issue, even in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is to present results of the analysis of effectiveness of the public sector in selected European countries. Article continues on Hamerníková, Maaytová, Kubát (2015). In the article is used DEA method and procedure by Afonso, Schuknecht a Tanzi (2006).
