Original language description
The article presents and comments on students'needs and expectation what they can learn in Academic/Professional Writing courses. The data were collected from the students of English language and literature department, Faculty of Education, University of Jan Evangelista Purkyne by the method of semi-structured interview conducted at the beginning of the semester. The results provide a detailed insight in students' expectations which are identical with the course syllabi and educational objectives, i.e. to build and develop the skill of academic/professional writing. Particular needs and selected sources towards fulfilling them are mentioned, including the ICT tools which can help students to acquire the academic writing skill.
