Development of Solid-Phase Extraction and HPLC/MS Methods for Deoxynivalenol Determination in Barley and Malt
Original language description
A method for determination of deoxynivalenol (DON) in cereals has been developed and applied. Solid phase extraction with Envicarb clean-up columns and subsequent separation by HPLC-MS on LUNA C18(2) column were used. DON was detected by MS detector in positive mode. The developed method is relatively cheap and fast with high sensitivity. The method was used for determination of the deoxynivalenol content in barley and malt. Detection limit for is for barley (malt) is 25 mg/kg (30 mg/kg). A variation inquantity of DON in samples after a malting process was observed.
