Preparation of epoxy resin nanocomposite with layered calcium phenylphosphonate as a filler
Original language description
By dispersing nanoparticles in polymer matrix, it is possible to create so-called nanocomposites which properties can significantly differ from composites with macro fillers. Layered materials are very suitable for this kind of application because their structure enables incorporation of polymer chains into their interlayer space or they can be exfoliated and polymer matrices can be then doped with 2D nanosheets formed in this way. We found that such a promising layered material, which can serve as a precursor of a nanosheet filler, is calcium phenylphosphonate (CaPhP). The aim of this work was to prepare nanosheets of calcium phenylphosphonate, incorporate them into an epoxy resin and study the influence of the added filler on nanocomposite properties.
