Original language description
The technological process of yarn manufacturing is being shortened to achieve higher productivity. At the same time yarn quality parameters must be conserved or improved. Mass irregularity which is one of the basic yarn quality descriptors is being improved by using multiple control levels in carding machines. Short wavelength disturbances of the produced sliver are controlled with different measuring principles on the output drafting unit by using appropriate measurements of the input material - the textile web, and the control of the long wave variations can be also implemented. The theoretical background, as verified by the simulation and measurement used for the development of such control units is presented in this article.
