    Service Robot for Glass Wall Cleaning

    As modern architecture has expanded being focused on a building-up of residential and multi-functional high-rise compounds having partial or almost full glass facades, recently service robots for these facades cleaning have been developed and tested. This paper describes a design study of a service robot mobile platform for the motion on a vertical glass walls. Basic drive is constructed from a stepper motor with a belt gear in a combination with PLC control. Gripping force is realized by vacuum gripping elements with a system of an intelligent vacuum technique. Designed system will compose a base of an autonomy platform, which will be used for cleaning purposes of high-rises glass facades.
