Impact of cutting conditions on tool wear
Original language description
This paper deals with the tool wear assessment of replaceable cutting tips made from sintered carbide (WC (87-92) % + Co (4-12) %) supplied by American company KENNAMETAL. The experiment was performed in the company WIKOV MGI, AG using the machine Hedelis BC 100. The purpose of this experiment was to test the tool wear of the back edge of the cutting tips, being one of the most important indicators of cutting tips state of condition. The cutting edge of the cutting tool is during the machining process to a certain degree affected by the tool wear that is being subjected to until the termination of machining that runs according to its endurance. The quality and the length of the cutting process affects the machine performance and to a certain extent itseconomic efficiency. The form and the type of the tool wear are affected by cutting conditions (cutting depth, feed and cutting speed).
