Innovative Approaches to Continuing Vocational Training: Exploring the Potential of Contemporary Trends

  • Original language description

Nowadays, businesses face the essential need for employee development, which can en-hance efficiency and lead to successful long-term functioning of the enterprise. Employee skills and knowledge support organizations during global and local market circumstances. The evaluation of the last few decades demonstrates a massive variety of changes that have influenced current businesses. The proactive worldwide utilization of information and com-munication technologies (ICT) has enabled the development of standardized processes and activities within companies (Jameel et al., 2017; Koraca, 2020). To better orient themselves in a constantly changing environment, companies are investing effectively in their employees. Vodák and Kuchárčíková (2011) define the employee training process as continuous learn-ing, which may be suspended for a while under outside circumstances. Nevertheless, for developing company competitiveness and expanding into other markets, vocational training and development are imperative conditions for success (Sanchez et al., 2003). The vocational and education process inside organizations did not come to a complete halt even during the recent worldwide epidemiological crisis caused by COVID-19. However, em-ployee education was slowed down with the implementation of the new normal and standards (Chi et al., 2020; Estevez et al., 2023). As a positive output, we may identify new employee education solutions and innovative attitudes towards vocational training in different compa-nies. One of the best practices for adapting employee training during the COVID-19 pandem-ic was the consulting offered by McKinsey & Company, which enabled employees to partici-pate in new adapting programs to develop their skills and knowledge. In addition, it was nec-essary to use contemporary trends in employee education to maintain a competitive position on the market (Kshirsagar et al., 2020). Nowadays, businesses face the risk of high labor turnover, which may lead to a loss of the knowledge base that has been invested in those workers (Bergeron, 2003). This paper ana-lyzes the influence of current trends on the process of knowledge sharing among employees. Innovative technologies are determining directions and offering new opportunities that can be utilized to streamline individual business processes and activities. This paper investigates the role of vocational education and training in European companies. Additionally, the paper will demonstrate how contemporary trends can be used to increase employee training efficiency. The secondary data analysis may expose the essentiality of training in European companies for their business success.
