Effect of fabric layer on needle temperature
Original language description
In this article impact of fabric layers on sewing needle temperature is measured by thermocouple.two methods are used inserted thermocouple method and touch method.the Lock stitch machine (Brother, DD7100-905) is run at its maximum speed of 4700RPM withstitch length of 14 SPI and temperature is measured machine by thermocouple touched to the surface of needle and secondly thermocouple is inserted inside the groove of needle to measure needle temperature after periodic 10,20,30 and 60 seconds of sewing.2/1 twill 100%cotton denim fabric with 257GSM with two, three, four and five layers were used and it was observed that increasing number of layers causes the increase of sewing needle temperature and comparing both method of temperature measurement, the inserted method shows less deviation and 5% less temperature as compare to touch method.
