Impact of ambient humidity on sewing needle temperature
Original language description
In this article impact of room humidity on sewing needle temperature is measured by thermocouple. Two methods are used to measure. inserted thermocouple method and touch method.the Lock stitch machine (Brother, DD7100-905) is run at its maximum speed of 4700RPM with stitch length of 14 SPI and temperature is measured by thermocouple touched to the surface of needle and secondly thermocouple is inserted inside the groove of needle to measure needle temperature after periodic 10,20,30 and 60 seconds of sewing.2/1 twill 100%cotton denim fabric with 257GSM with two layers were used and it was observed that with the increase of relative humidity there is insignificant increase of sewing needle temperature and comparing both method of temperature measurement, the inserted method shows less deviation and 5% less temperature as compare to touch method.
