Silica nanofibers have many advantages for the covalent binding of biomolecules (antibiotics, enzymes or cytostatics) due their large surface and high porosity. The immobilization of these biomolecules on the biodegradable nanofibers allows the gradual repase. This process can be used for non-invasive treatment of chornic wounds skin or enzymatic debridement
