Assessment of cell adhesion on electrospun polycaprolactone scaffold sterilized by ethylene oxide
Original language description
Nanofibrous scaffolds are promising materials for construction of tissue engineering scaffolds due to their similar morphology with extracellular matrix. Polycaprolactone is a synthetic polymer commonly used for various applications due to its cytocompatibility and biodegradability. Terminal sterilization of electrospun polycaprolactone nanofibers could significantly change properties of the scaffold therefore the impact of ethylene oxide sterilization was studied in vitro in presented work. The results showed lowered adhesion of cell lines compared to ethanol sterilized materials.
