Original language description

Both spring and winter barleys were cultivated after the same forecrop winter rape. Three registered model varieties both six-row and two-row winter barley reached in the period 1999-2001 significantly higher yielding potential than three model spring barley varieties. Both two-row spring and winter varieties reached significantly higher TGW than six-row winter barley. The most relevant influence on the yield manifested resistance to diseases and lodging (correlation coefficient with resistance to powdery mildew represent 0.68**, rust 0.72**, lodging 0.61**). Resistance to rust has as well as influenced sieving on 2.5 mm, correlation coefficient reached the value of 0.88**. As for malting quality parameters no significant differences were determined inany parameter when varieties two-row winter barley represented by variety Tiffany and spring barley varieties represented by Akcent and Tolar were compared.
