RM systems are on the market for some time but only in the last decade saw great progress from niche usage and focus on the technical side of things, to mass use in all areas of enterprise management. This article deals with the possibility of CRM utilization for small and medium enterprises. The basis is the evolution of CRM definitions and theoretical definition of the various types of CRM concerning the enterprise. Furthermore, the article describes the current state of the CRM utilization by enterprises based on CSO data and own research, which assessed the knowledge and utilization of CRM systems by enterprises. How enterprises provide all processes and whether they have a real opportunity to use the CRM is significantly influenced by the size ofthe organization itself.
