The paper describes Moravian-Silesian region as a destination with a wide range of regional specialties. The aim of this paper is to define the basic requirements for the use of regional gastronomy as a means to support the development of tourism in theRegion. The main method is a SWOT analysis. Regional gastronomy belongs to the culinary tourism. Culinary tourism is defined as the performance of unique and memorable eating and drinking.
