The influence of thermo-mechanical processing on the microstructure of steel 20MoCrS4
Original language description
The steel was processed by special methods of TMP consisting of hot and/or warm compression deformation. Microstructure was studied using light and transmission electron microscopy. Mechanical properties were measured and microfractography was carried ouContinuos cooling transformation and continuos cooling compression transformation diagrams were constructed and verified by metallography. Hot deformation accelerates ferritic transformation, retards bainitic reactions and decreases the bainite start temperature. The compression hot and/or warm deformation results in a refinement of the microstructure and improvement of mechanical properties. Warm deformation followed by a suitable dwell at elevated temperature remarkable increases tensile strength andnotch toughness.
