At the end of 20.th century has become the massive increase of the serial production and therefore increase in requirements on production too. These requirements have been already clearly defined as the concept lean production. Decreasing or entire eliminating all kinds of waste in production systems is one of the main goals of today´s companies. The wastes can be found all over the company in all production and logistic processes. The contribution deals with total rationalization of the assembly workplace. There were the analysis of operation sequences, necessary fixtures, jigs, spatial arrangement, etc. performed. The rationalization methodology was the same for all workplaces. Based on the analysis were determined main problems that provoked a need to standardize workplaces. Consequently it was necessary to create completely new operation standards as well as new workplace layout.
