An electrical insulation system plays a key role in the electrical appliances. Insulating systems of high power high voltage appliances are in the centre of the attention in the terms of the reliability. This is in the relation with the observing of thepossible degradation mechanisms. One of the observed mechanisms is electrical treeing. Electrical treeing causing electrical breakdown of the insulation by the lower voltages than is the regular breakdown voltage. Cases are known, when the electrical breakdown of an appliance was caused by the electrical treeing on the rated voltage level. Typical example is electrical treeing in the insulating systems of high voltage cables. Presented paper is concerned on the problem of electrical treeing.
