Currently, the Internet becomes the most used tool of promotion. The paper describes the research of modern technology use in promotion in the field of tourism. The basic tool of online communication is website. The research objective of this paper is toidentify what are the typical features of websites of Destination Management Organisations (DMOs) in Germany and the Czech Republic. Content analysis of websites of DMOs was used to identify such variables. Based on the results of content analysis, examined websites are compared. The result is, among other findings, the breakdown of the websites' focus into informative or commercially oriented content
