Original language description
There were assessed the proportions of the smooth muscle cells, elastin and collagen fibres in the area of histological sections through the wall of normal subrenal and aneurysmatic aorta. The data were used for the development of mathematical model of the aneurysm reflecting the mechanical features of the aortal wall. The composite material is constituted by muscle cells, passive connective fibres and isotropic hyperelastic incompressible matrix, all of them contribute to the macroscopic stress tensoraccording to their volume fractions. The behaviour of both the collagen and elastic fibres is described by the Kelvin viscoelastic constitutive model with a geometric nonlinearity. Activation of the muscle cells is represented by a parameter managing thestress generated in active fibres
