Informed Consent, Trust and Virtue in Czech Medicine Ethics, Law and Society
Original language description
The survey done in the Czech Republic in recent years showed that Czech patients did not accept informed consent in its original meaning. It could be due to retardation of democratic processes in post-communist country. In alternative interpretation we can understand this non acceptance as call for physicians of high moral standards. Authors propose to apply some aspects of medical deontology and virtue ethics in this context.
