The effects of lactic acid bacteria inoculants and formic acid on the formation of biogenic amines in grass silages
Original language description
Three inoculants, Lactobacillus plantarum, L. buchneri and a mixed preparation Microsil at doses 5.10(5) and 5.10(6) CFU/g or 0.3 % (w/w) of formic acid were applied in six laboratory experiments to unwilted grasses. Seven biogenic amines and polyamineswere determined in silages after 4 months of storage. Formic acid showed the maximum decrease of the amines, mainly of tyrosine and cadaverine.
