In the contribution it is shown how preschool children solved the problem "design a tessellation of a bathroom". The future preschool teachers, who in the Czech Republic could study in bachelor study programs, presented the problem to the preschool children individually. The students designed a simple floor tile and observed how preschool children with 20 tiles of the same type "pave the bathroom". In the children's work we can find the creation of geometrical shapes. It was observed that their work wasdriven by the simple geometric transformation: reflection, rotation, and translation.
