Original language description
This paper presents a piece of research focusing on the role of a foreign language in the solving of a mathematical problem taken from the pilot testing of The Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) by 15 year old pupils and the differencein academic achievements of CLIL and non-CLIL pupils. The presented research was based on an assessment of didactical tests taken by pupils who have undertaken some mathematics lessons in a foreign language and pupils who have undertaken mathematics lesson only in the mother tongue. The academic achievements of both groups of the pupils are compared with the overall PISA results of Czech pupils from the year 2012. The obtained outcomes of the research were evaluated using suitable statistical methods.
