IMPLEMENTATION AND PRACTICAL ROLE OF UKRAINIAN TEACHING ASSISTANTS IN CZECH SCHOOLS
Original language description
This conference contribution examines the implementation and practical role of Ukrainian Teaching Assistants in Czech schools as an emergency support measure introduced after the arrival of Ukrainian refugee pupils in 2022. It briefly presents the legislative and organisational framework of this position and summarises the main areas of assistants’ daily practice. Ukrainian Teaching Assistants provide linguistic and academic support, facilitate pupils’ social and cultural adaptation, mediate communication between schools and families, and cooperate with teachers in inclusive classroom work. The contribution highlights their integrative function and their importance for effective and humane educational support in linguistically and culturally diverse school environments.
