Managerial Communication of Flexible Working Conditions as Offered in SMEs in South Bohemia
Original language description
This paper deals with the communication of managers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) providing services. In SMEs, communication plays a very important role in many respects. Flexible working conditions (FWC) are rarely used in the Czech Republic, however over time the number of flexible jobs increases. This paper gives the answers to the following questions: How do service providing SMEs inform their employees about the offer of FWC? Do managers communicate FWC transparently and utilize the potential of this offer? Does the way how they inform correspond with the amount of using FWC? Does the way how they inform correspond with the awareness how important for recruitment and maintaining employees it is? Does the way how they inform correspond with the education of the managers? The data were gathered in the framework of the research that was carried out from November 2018 till October 2019 in the SMEs providing services in the Czech Republic. The data gained show that managers of the service providing SMEs are not transparent with communication with their employees about FWC. The transparency of communication about FWC does not depend on the awareness how important for recruitment and maintaining employees the FWC are. The transparency of communication about FWC depends on the amount of FWC offered in SME and on the education of manager.
