Second Harmonic Generation Signal from Deep Shade Moisture Plants USING the Two-Photon Laser Scanning Microscope
Original language description
Simultaneously measurements of the second harmonic generation (SHG) signals in the forward and backward directions from deep shade plants were achieved. These measurements show that the deep shade plants produce high SHG signal in both directions and theSHG signals strongly depend on the state of the polarization of the laser light and the orientation of the dipole moment in the molecules that interact with the laser light. The novelty of this work is using the new multi-functional technique which recently I established by combing three platforms of laser scanning microscopy; the fluorescence microscopy, harmonic generation microscopy and polarizing microscopy for detecting for the first time the SHG signals from deep shade plants. In this multifunctional technique one can use the SH imaging to investigate the true architecture without photo-damage or photo-belching by utilizing the fact that the SHG is known to leave no energy deposition to the interacted matters due to their virtual
