In vitro reactivation of acetylcholinesterase using the oxime K027
Original language description
The ability of new bisquaternary oxime - K027 [1-(4-hydroxyiminomethylpyridinium)-3-(carbamoylpyridinium)propane dibromide] to reactivate the enzyme acetylcholinesterase inhibited by nerve agents is evaluated in this study. Tabun, sarin and VX agent wereused as nerve agents. Its reactivation potency was compared to currently used acetylcholinesterase reactivators such as pralidoxime, obidoxime and HI-6. Our new oxime K027 seems to be a good reactivator of organophosphates-inhibited AChE. Its reactivation potency is lower compared to the other oximes in the case of the reactivation of sarin-inhibited acetylcholinesterase, but it is sufficient to significantly increase the activity of sarin-inhibited acetylcholinesterase. On the other hand, its reactivation ability is comparable to obidoxime in the case of reactivation of VX- and tabun-inhibited acetycholinesterase. In addition, its reactivation potency of tabun-inhibited acetylcholinesterase is higher than a reactivation potency of the
