Notes on dynamic panel data analysis in terms of modeling determinants of military spending
Original language description
The contribution deals with the problem of dynamic panel data modeling. One can find several methods of estimation dynamic data model parameters. We focus on two commonly used approaches. One is based on a generalized method of moments, the second employs a pooled mean estimator in autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) models. Properties of mentioned estimates are discussed. The models are applied to time series of military spending in selected NATO member countries and to other time series describing the economic and security environment in analyzed states in order to identify possible determinants of military spending.
