Original language description
The paper presents partial results of the project Monitoring students improvement in English based on a four-year data gathering related to students? entrance level and its improving in the course of study in bachelors? courses. The aim of this project was to compare the language level of the students, relations between their secondary school and university results, the type of the secondary school, the week´s number of lessons, currently used textbooks, teaching methods, etc. The method chosen for monitoring at the Language Training Centre was the questionnaire statistical survey. The results are intended to be used for enhancing learning ? teaching effectiveness and to meet resort requirements at military professionals language preparation.
