Structure and Basic Features of a Directional Mobile Free Space Optical Link
Original language description
The paper deals with design of a control system for a directional mobile free-space optical link for communication between two platforms where at least one of them is movable. It is a two-step control system. In the first step, the position information from a receiver of the global positioning system (GPS) and an inertial reference unit are applied. The second step operates as a video tracking system. Further on, the paper contains analysis of requirements on the optical-beam angular deflections. The design, operation, transfer functions, and some simulated data of the control system of the optical axes position are described.
