Experimental Analysis of a Wooden Cantilever Beam
Original language description
The cantilever beams are widely found in construction, notably in cantilever bridges. The article is focused on the possibility of experimental detection of natural frequencies in order to assess the technical condition of the given structure. The question of the appropriate beam excitation and the possibility of the maximum reduction of the number of measuring channels are also discussed. In the case of laboratory measurements when the beam stiffness is often relatively low, it is necessary to take into account the impact of accelerometer weight on the measured frequency. Experimental data are compared with simulation results achieved using ANSYS computing environment.
