Dependence of the Jones Matrix elements of fiber on the polarization modes coupling owing to the torsion
Original language description
The aim of this papaer is contribution to understanding of coupling between the polarization modes on the resultant transfer proprerties of single mode fiber given by the Jones matrix. In the case of ideal fiber it is possible to describe a propagation of the polarized optical wave by the Jones matrix and corresponding polarization eigenmodes with different propagation constants. Any disurbance along the fiber makes the cooupling between these polarization modes and transition properties descrebed by the Jones matrix are given not by the eigenmodes but by the principal states of polarization. Defined disturbance along the whole fiber and also relatively defined variable coupling between the polarization modes it is possible to abtain by the torsion offiber. Experimental evaluation of torsion effect by th Jones matrix elements can define the boundaries of application theory of polarization eigenmodes and principal states of polarization. These results can also contribute to understandi
